Owner was very accommodating. I showed up 5 minutes after close (5:30pm) and he still waved me in. Very quick and efficient inspection.This is how a business should be run.

The very best smog place I've been to. By the end of the time, Ray (the owner) and I became good friends. We talked about everything under the sun and it is obvious that Ray is a man of integrity and character. I will always return to his place for my smog needs. Go see this guy! Appointments are a good idea, but it's because they are popular for a reason. It was late in the evening but he took my car and was very friendly and personable. He even gave me advice on how to get my phone to be a free wifi hotspot while we were waiting for tests to complete. He knows a lot about a lot, and even though I kept him late he volunteered a military discount I didn't even ask about once he found out. Even knew about new incentives California offers for turning in older cars ...

Mary and Ray were great! They provided prompt, friendly service and where extremely knowledgeable. I have an all-wheel drive sports car and they knew exactly what to do and were done within 10 minutes. Highly recommend them.

Mary and Ray were so nice and helpful. They went above and beyond, providing me with excellent tips that saved me hundreds of dollars on repairs. They know what they are doing. I'll never go to another smog test location. Glad I read these reviews before getting my smog check, because these reviewers were right on!

This was my 3rd visit to Smog Test Only, Ray was great and still the same price. No hidden fees and he efiled my DMV smog check as well. All smog places are almost exactly the same price, so don't get fooled when you see a $13.00 coupon.

I looked up smog check locations and came across Ray Chinn and his smog test location on G St. Everyone had very positive things to say about their experience and the service provided. I checked them out and now I feel just the same! They were so friendly and went out of their way to help me. The next time I need a smog check I will be back.

Extremely happy with my first visit. The place has a very customer service-friendly one-man shop kind of feel. Not something you'd normally expect to find in downtown San Diego. I highly recommend this place and will definitely return for future smog checks.
